Pintucks, pintucks, pintucks.
I had the pleasure of dressing Ms. Jennifer Thorson for the Hearts for Fashion fashion show at the Mall of America. What a doll. Jennifer is a spokeswoman for the American Heart Association (see her blog post on the event here) and as such was featured as a heart disease survivor model on the runway.
Jen’s dress was inspired by men’s tuxedo shirts. I did extensive pintucking on the skirt and the bodice. I chose to use silk and cotton with frayed silk trim at the neckline and sleeve openings. There are gold buttons down the back.
Jen loved it, I loved it, the dress was a success. I am so happy to have given my time to the AHA. Their work to prevent heart disease in women is important and honorable and I am very pleased to be a part of that work.
